What is Servants Not Professionals?
There is an epidemic-level divide in church culture between the church leaders and everyone else. Church leaders are viewed as a special class of Christians, while everyone else’s job is to watch the leaders perform. This could not be further from the biblical example.
Our theme verses are from Ephesians 4:
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (v. 11-13, NIV).
The responsibility of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers is not to do the work of the ministry, as if they were a special class of Christians. The role of church leadership is to equip His people, the body, that all Christians would become mature. Our mission is to equip lay-leaders so that the whole body may be edified.
Here at Servants Not Professionals we realize God may call you to any number of ways to serve Him. One of those ways we seek to serve Him is through equipping lay-leaders to effectively and efficiently handle administrative and creative tasks, in order to make room for the real work of the ministry: People.
Have you ever held a youth service, and been stressed out about having a fun game? Have you ever wondered how to make effective slides for teachings? Have you ever considered ChatGPT a free personal assistant? Our prayer is to walk you through many tasks of ministry in a simple, concise way that leaves you empowered and available for discipleship. Will you join us in equipping the saints for the edification of the body?
What Do We Believe?
Here at Servants Not Professionals, we believe in the historical Christian faith. This faith can be summarized by understanding four areas: God, the world, the church, and salvation.
God
We believe in the Holy Trinity, the Father, Son, and Spirit, all three co-equal in all attributes, yet somehow distinct according to Scripture.
The World
The world was created good. However, after the events of Genesis 3, the fall of mankind, the world was cast into darkness apart from God. The world will be made new in the new heaven and new earth in eternity.
The Church
The church is Christ’s light shined in the world. The core mission of the church is to make disciples of all nations, that Jesus would be glorified. Therefore, God’s Spirit equips us with good gifts to carry out that mission.
Salvation
Salvation comes through the work of Jesus. We have access to that salvation through faith in Him, apart from our own evil or seemingly-righteous deeds.
