From the Bible Game Assistant:
DESCRIPTION:
You find yourselves in the ancient land of Judea, during the time of Roman occupation. The sun is hot, beating down on the dusty roads of Jerusalem, bustling with merchants, travelers, and Roman soldiers. The air is filled with the scent of spices and the sounds of haggling. This city is a melting pot of cultures, religions, and political tensions. Your party consists of a Zealot, a tax collector turned follower of the Way, and a healer with a prophetic gift.
- Campaign Goal: Your ultimate quest is to uncover a prophecy concerning the coming of the Messiah, believed to be hidden within the Temple of Jerusalem. Along the way, you must navigate the complexities of Roman rule, the expectations of Jewish society, and the dangers posed by rival factions.
- Current Location of the Story: You stand near the bustling marketplace, a hub of information and intrigue, where the common people gather, and secrets may be traded as easily as goods.
STORY OUTLINE:
- Gathering Information (Session 1):
- Engage with local merchants and travelers to learn about rumors regarding the Messiah.
- Encounter a group of Pharisees who debate the meaning of the law and discuss the coming prophet. They may provide clues or lead to conflict.
- Discover that an ancient scroll is rumored to be hidden in the Temple.
- The Temple and the Roman Authorities (Session 2):
- Travel to the Temple and attempt to gain entry.
- Face a Roman centurion who is suspicious of your gathering. You must persuade or deceive him to allow you through.
- Once inside, search for the scroll, dealing with temple guards and other seekers of the truth.
- The Prophecy Uncovered (Session 3):
- Find the scroll, which contains a prophecy hinting at a specific location within Judea.
- Interpret the scroll with the help of the healer’s prophetic abilities.
- Begin to attract attention; rumors spread, and you have made both allies and enemies.
- Journey to the Prophecy’s Location (Session 4):
- Set out to the location mentioned in the scroll. The journey is fraught with peril, including bandits and hostile territories.
- You may encounter disciples or followers of John the Baptist, offering guidance or challenges.
- Encounter a significant event (e.g., a healing miracle) that draws more followers to your cause.
- Conflict with Rival Factions (Session 5):
- Arrive at the prophecy’s location, but rival factions (perhaps a faction of Zealots or Sadducees) are there seeking the same thing.
- Engage in dialogue or battle, depending on player choices.
- Secure the site and receive a vision or further prophetic message.
- Return to Jerusalem (Session 6):
- With the knowledge and potential artifacts, return to Jerusalem.
- Prepare for a confrontation with both Roman authorities and rival factions seeking to claim your findings.

- The choice to stand firm in your beliefs or find a way to escape persecution.
- Resolution (Session 8):
