DEFINITION:
Divine patience refers to God’s enduring forbearance and restraint in the face of human sin and rebellion. It highlights God’s willingness to withhold immediate judgment, allowing time for repentance and spiritual growth.
SCRIPTURE:
1. Exodus 34:6-7 – “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion, and sin.”
2. Romans 2:4 – “Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”
3. 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance
