LOCATION SUMMARY
The village of Maon, nestled near the edge of the wilderness, is a bustling spot with farmers and shepherds. The area is known for its herding, and the nearby Carmel wilderness provides ample grazing for sheep. Nabal’s estate, slightly on the outskirts, boasts a well-tended garden and a large storage barn, where provisions are kept. The villagers are wary of David’s men and are divided on whether to support him or remain loyal to their wealthy master, Nabal.

LOWER WISDOM DISCOVERY
Passive Wisdom (DC 10): A nearby sheep seems more agitated than usual, indicating something or someone is off in the surroundings; following it may yield unexpected clues or unexpected encounters.
HIGHER WISDOM DISCOVERY
Passive Wisdom (DC 15): The villagers’ murmurs speak of a “wanderer” seen at dusk near the cliffs, hinting at another party interested in Nabal’s riches, possibly a lead for future encounters.
OPTIONAL EVENT
An elderly villager approaches the party, offering a story about Nabal’s past dealings and warning that he tends to harm those who cross him. The villagers are divided, and a decision must be made whether to align with Nabal for safety or David for the promise of loyalty and honor.
